Project kickoff
Forestmail v1 development begins. Core scope defined: custom label system and sender blocking.
The foundation was laid with two guiding principles — helping users organise their inbox on their own terms, and protecting them from unwanted noise.
Core inbox UI
The main inbox view takes shape — email list with category groupings, folder navigation, and clean visual hierarchy.
We focused on reducing cognitive load by setting up a layout that prioritizes content over chrome. Sidebars are collapsible, and typography was refined for maximum legibility.
Email drawer & keyboard shortcuts
A slide-in email drawer lets you read and act on messages without losing your place. Keyboard shortcuts let power users fly through their inbox.
Speed is essentially what makes an email client feel great. Added comprehensive keyboard support so you can reply, archive, trash, and label without touching your mouse.
Custom labels & smart organisation
Users can now create their own labels and organise emails in a way that matches how they think — not how an algorithm decides.
Unlike classic folders, labels can be applied multiple times. We also introduced smart suggestions to automatically label incoming mail based on past behavior.
Bulk unsubscribe & sender blocking
Block spammy senders in one tap, or unsubscribe from mailing lists in bulk — no hunting through footers required.
Forestmail automatically parses List-Unsubscribe headers. If none are found, we fallback to blocking the sender at the infrastructure level.
v1.0 launch preparation
Feature-complete. Google OAuth verification underway alongside an independent security audit before public launch.
Currently pushing through the final legal and compliance hurdles. The app is completely ready, we're just waiting for the final greenlight.
